How does a viewer evaluate a photograph? Would s/he looks at an image and walks by quickly without seeking any meaning? Or, s/he tries to dig in with whatever prior knowledge he/she posses to understand the idea or concept behind it? Some photographs are not so easy to read. The signifier, or the image in this case is hard to figure out. The signified, or its idea is also difficult to fathom. Perhaps one could guess from the title, "light-Trap" that it has something to do with light trapped within the confinement of dark, cold walls. But what does this image signify?
